How to be a Chick Flick Heroine

Feel like your life’s a movie and every move you make is captured in reel, ala The Truman Show? Here are ten sure ways to make you the perfect chick flick heroine:

 

1. Undress in front of your open windows. It is important that the curtains are all drawn and the lights are on. For a GP flick, make sure to step out of view as you are about to unhook your bra.

 

2. Think aloud. After all, the audience needs to know what’s on your mind.

3. Talk to an inanimate object, or your pet. Pour out your feelings to a stuffed bear or a tape recorder. Be all sentimental and deliver monologues to your cat that must be trained, on cue, to purr in agreement and jump onto your lap.

 

4. Be in love with a jerk. It all begins with the bad boy who must break your heart, before the good guy comes into the scene.

5. Have an either really fantastic job, or one that really sucks—nothing in between.

6. Have a guy best friend to make things more interesting. Guy best friends need to be quite cute but must fall short of being hot until he gets a makeover.

 

7.Lie to someone about something and make sure that person learns the truth from another source. In that way, you can deliver the famous line “I was going to tell you….”

 

8.Have an odd or ungilry talent, like burping the alphabet or reciting all the US presidents’ names in order. Sooner or later you just might find the guy you share the same weirdess with.

 

9. Watch sappy black and white movies while eating popcorn or ice cream in your living room when you’re feeling down. It is vital that you wear pajamas or baggy sweatpants to get the over-all “depressed” effect.

 

 

10. When you are with your movie’s leading man, make it a point to get your face just a good 3 inches away from his. Be quiet, look him in the eye for 5-10 seconds, and then close your eyes and wait for that cinematic kiss.
